part of my 2012 bucket list is my long-weekend adventure. for my first this year, i believe there's nothing more special than to spend it on a beach. i googled for a place i can go and i came across this beautiful beach that is located in zambales. this makes the place even more perfect since it's also my desire to explore zambales beaches this year.
we left manila at 8.00 in the morning. it was a 5 hours cutting trip via victory liner. 3 hours from manila to olongapo city and 2 hours to san narcisso, zambales. acquiring your ticket to the north can be a bit stressful because of the long lines so you can opt for online reservation a few days before your trip. 5 hours can't be too long for those who are used to the manila-bicol route. i really enjoyed the sight of the vast rice fields and mango plantations in pampangga. i felt that cam sur is just around the corner because of this trip.
the route to the beach allowed us to visit their parish church. we stopped by to explore the church and whisper a prayer. filipino beliefs say that we whisper a wish during our first visit to a church. of course, i took this opportunity to say mine too.
once you arrive at the resort, you will be welcomed by their very friendly receptionists. they were really accomodating and were ever willing to entertain questions regarding the place. surveying the entire place was exciting. the resort was huge and is perfect for big group adventures. guests will have a variety of cottages and rooms to choose from. rooms are also very spacious and exudes fresh sea breeze. the place is surrounded by pine trees which adds freshness to the breeze brought by the sea.
the resort will also be a good choice for groups who wish to have their team building sessions as the place is also equipped with facilities for group sessions (e.g. camper's site, play ground with swings, monkey bars, bonfire site, barn, etc). they also have a restaurant which serves affordable meals and buffet breakfast which i loved the most.
crystal beach (crystalbeach.com.ph) is actually a place for surfers and others who love the big waves. the shoreline is also clean and i appreciate the local's concern for the maintaining an ideal environment for recreation. the entire resort is also a perfect place for reflection and me-myself-i moments. sunset viewing is refreshing to souls who also need to breathe in peace and rest. i also enjoyed the toned bodies and bronzed-like skin of surfers (naughty smile).. : ) (what?? i am just appreciating them.. can i not do that?)
the weekend get away was truly a gift to me. i savored the time i spent strolling along the seashore. i also enjoyed my time with the big waves even if i suffered from some minor bruises from it. the moon was also present the entire time. and i slept like a princess, no bad dreams for me that night. it was a blessing that the dream catcher was around.
i may not be ready to jump off the cliff, but i will be ready for my next long weekend get away. will you join me again?
